With NFL Week 3 in the books there remain six teams carrying an undefeated record and only the New York Giants will be taking Week 4 off as the Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens see action.
While the Bills needed a fourth quarter comeback to knock of the Raiders and the Broncos escaped with a two-point win over the Saints, the Cowboys had little trouble against the Packers, the Ravens crushed the Browns and the Titans embarrassed the Texans. Only the Ravens are seen as an underdog this week when they travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football.
Week 4 will also shed some light on whether the teams that earned their first win last week will even out their record, right now only the Chargers and the Jaguars are favored while the Seahawks have the week off and the Vikings are 3-point dogs against the Titans.
NFL week 4 Schedule
The Denver Broncos (3-0) held on to beat the Saints at home last week and now Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall are heading into Kansas City as 10-point favorites against the winless Chiefs (0-3) who were blasted by the Falcons last Sunday.
In what may be billed as the battle of Ohio but realistically just seen as a meeting of two winless teams the Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) will be 3.5-point favorites when they host the Cleveland Browns (0-3). The Bengals fell to the Giants in OT last week while the browns were blown out by the Ravens.
Fred Taylor helped the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2) edge the Colts last week and he’ll certainly get plenty of touches on Sunday as they have been labeled a 7.5-point home favorite over the winless Houston Texans (0-2) who have struggled mightily to start the season, once again getting blasted last Sunday by the Titans.
Brett Favre will try to halt a two-game losing streak following an open season victory as the New York Jets (1-2) host Sundays game against Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals (2-1) as 1.5-point favorites. The Jets fell to the Chargers on Monday Night Football while the Cardinals lost to the Redskins.
Despite the absence of Jeremy Shockey and Marques Colston the New Orleans Saints (1-2) have been listed as a 5.5-point favorite over the visiting San Francisco 49ers (2-1). Drew Brees will try to bunce back after the Broncos loss while the 49ers hope for a repeat performance of their hammering of the Lions.
In a big NFC East matchup Jake Delhomme and the Carolina Panthers (2-1) will look to shrug off last week’s loss to the Vikings when they host the Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons (2-1) who trounced the Chiefs. The Panthers have been listed as a 7-5-point favorite.
Kerry Collins will once again be called upon to lead the Tennessee Titans (3-0) and after last week’s pounding of the Texans they’ve been called a 3.5-point favorite over the visiting Minnesota Vikings (1-2) who picked up their first win last weekend, beating the Panthers.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) escaped Chicago with a 27-24 overtime win last week and will now return home as a 1-point favorite over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (2-1) who will look to bounce back after a disappointing loss to the Cowboys.
Trent Edwards has the Buffalo Bills (3-0) off to a great start and after overcoming a fourth quarter deficit to knock off the Raiders last week they’ll hit the road as 8-point favorites when they face the awful St. Louis Rams (0-3) who turn to Trent Green to fix a struggling offense.
Philip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson got the San Diego Chargers (1-2) back on track on Monday night with a big win against the Jets and will now travel north as a 7.5-pointfavorite over the Oakland Raiders (1-2) who lost to the Bills in the closing minutes last week.
Tony Romo and Terrell Owens have the Dallas Cowboys (3-0) looking solid and after last week’s surprisingly easy win over the Packers they’ll be an 11-point favorite over their visiting rivals the Washington Redskins (2-1) who dropped the Cardinals last Sunday.
Donovan McNabb will look to keep his Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) soaring this week after a big win over the Steelers last Sunday and they’ll be a 3-point favorite on the road when they take on the Chicago Bears (1-2) who fell in OT to the Buccaneers last week.
Ben Roethlisberger will have to face yet another tough defense this week as the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) host the Baltimore Ravens (2-0) as 5.5-point favorites. The Steelers managed just two field goals in their loss to the Eagles while the Ravens beat up on the Browns.
