Cruiserweight to Release Big Bold Letters October 7

Power pop indie band Cruiserweight talks about album in YourFindit interview.

Cruiserweight will finally release Big Bold Letters through Doghouse Records October 7, after a year and four months of waiting.  Cruiserweight bassist Dave Hawkins talks about the album, the band and its music in a YourFindit interview with Rebecca Firth.  Hear the Cruiserweight interview on the band’s YourFindit profile at www.yourfindit.com/cruiserweight.

Although Dave Hawkins does not like to describe, or label, the band’s music, Cruiserweight is somewhere along the lines of power pop with a touch of indie and punk.  Influences include Letters to Cleo, Jimmy Eat World, Weezer and Alkaline Trio.

The band formed ten years ago, and with only a couple lineup changes, the band is going strong developing new music and touring frequently.  The current lineup includes vocalist Stella, guitarist Ernie, drummer Daniel and bassist Dave.

Cruiserweight will be celebrating the release of Big Bold Letters at Emo’s in Austin, Texas.  Also participating in the celebration will be Pink Spiders, Mondo Primo (formerly Feable Weiner) and Driver F.
