Jawbone Does Not Belong to Natalie Holloway, But Is Human

Part of a jawbone found on an Aruban beach earlier this month is human, but does not belong to Natalie Holloway, the Aruban Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday. The bone, which includes a tooth, was found by tourists on a beach near the Phoenix Hotel. The find was turned over to authorities to determine if it belonged to Holloway, who disappeared in 2005 while on a high school graduation trip to Aruba.

The Netherlands Forensic Institute determined that Holloway’s dental records "excludes the possibility that the bone material found in Aruba is that of Natalee Holloway.” It is unclear who the bone belongs to.

Meanwhile, a second bone was found on an Aruban beach. The bone, which does not appear to be human, was turned over to the police for testing.
