NFL Scores Week 4: Jacksonville Jaguars Edge Houston Texans with Josh Scobee Field Goal in OT

David Garrard threw for 236 yards and a touchdown and added 41 yards rushing and a score, Matt Jones had 71 yards receiving and a TD and Josh Scobee kicked three field goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) snuck past the Houston Texans (0-3) 27-24 on Sunday.

The game stayed tight throughout as Jacksonville held a 7-3 advantage after the first period on a Montell Owens 41-yard touchdown run but the Texans came back in the second quarter as Matt Schaub hit Steve Slaton on a 30-yard touchdown pass and the teams went into halftime tied 10-10.

Both quarterbacks traded touchdown passes in the third quarter as Garrard hooked up with Matt Jones on a 16-yard TD and Schaub answered with a 5-yard toss to Kevin Walter, setting up a 17-17 score heading into the fourth.

After Scobee gave the Jaguars a 20-17 lead with a 40-yard field goal Schaub tossed his third touchdown of the game, an 8-yarder to Walter and the Texans moved in front 24-20.

With less than two minutes left Garrard put the Jaguars in the endzone when he ran it in from 5-yards out but Kris Benson forced overtime with a 47-yard field goal with six seconds left in regulation.

Scobee then delivered the game-winner from 37-yards out to give the Jaguars the win in OT.
