Joseph Gordon-Levitt has returned to work following the death of his brother.

The ‘Inception’ star made a short video for his website hitRECord.org thanking fans for their good wishes and assuring them he is gradually getting back to normal after his beloved older sibling Dan Gordon-Levitt – known as Burning Dan - died from a suspected drug overdose last month aged 36.

He said: “It’s been a while since I did a 'Regularity' video – life has been irregular. Thanks to everybody for all the love and support for Burning Dan, it means a lot. I’m going to start getting back to work gingerly.”

While Joseph admitted he is unwilling to take on too many projects at the moment because he is still grieving, he did acknowledge that he is improving.

He said: "To level with you, I still can't really handle the workload that I usually do, but I wanna start getting back to some projects. I'll be back to do another 'Regularity' video.”

Joseph finished by thanking his fans again for helping him cope with his brother’s sudden death.

He said: "I'm gonna get back to full regularity at some point; I just don't want to make a commitment I can't live up to right now. I’ll do my best and thank you guys so much for helping.”

Joseph currently has two movies in post-production, ‘Premium Rush’ and ‘Live with It’ while ‘Looper’ with Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt is still in pre-production.
