JLS were always destined for musical success.
The British boy band – who came second on Simon Cowell's
talent search show 'The X Factor' in 2008 - may have only shot to fame
in the last few years but singer Jonathan 'JB' Gill said he was musical
from a young age and could never be separated from his beloved drum kit.
JB– who along with Marvin Humes, Oritse Williams and Aston Merrygold
completes the JLS line-up – said: “I have pictures of myself with my
first birthday present which was actually like a drum set with orange
drum sticks. I loved it. From that I then got really into playing all
kinds of instruments”
Though Aston’s favourite toy – a Sonic the Hedgehog teddy – didn’t
inspire him musically, he still has fond memories of it and has given
it to his mother for safe keeping while he is away on the road with the
band.
He said: “I’ll never forget my favourite toy because I’ve still got it
now, it’s in my mum’s house. It was Sonic the Hedgehog – a teddy kind
of thing. I’ve had it since I can first remember. And it’s still in my
mum’s house.”
Meanwhile, Oritse said his beloved childhood plaything was a go-kart he made himself.
He explained: “I made a go-kart when I was a kid. I made it with my
brothers. It was seriously amazing. That was one of my earliest toys
and definitely my favourite.”
