Azure Noir (AZ) is trip hop, ambient and down-tempo with mixed influences ranging from Portishead, Birthday Massacre and Massive Attack to J Dilla, Little Brother, Velure, Zero 7, MF Doom and Al Green. Formed by composer King and vocalist Morguen Merlot, the duet has worked together to create what they call a “soundscape for life.” Although the two work as a pair throughout music production, they are joined on stage by guitarist Sick and bassist AC for live events.

AZ was honored to have their first performance at the Dream City 10 Minute Max Performance showcase as their first show together. The semiyearly event features local talent from the
Addicted to Blue, AZ’s debut album was released to AZ mailing list members. The album will be available to the general public on all the usual online distribution outlets on the album’s official release date December 2. The thirteen track album is a collection of King’s previous work brought back to life with his collaboration with Morguen Merlot as well as new music written by the two of them together.
