Lindsay Lohan wanted to "feel free" again during Thanksgiving Day.

The troubled actress – who is currently scheduled to remain at the Betty Ford Center until January 3 after failing two court-ordered drugs tests in September – reportedly wanted to be "given her own space" during yesterday's (25.11.10) holiday.

An insider told X17 Online: "Lindsay really wanted to go home to Los Angeles for the holiday. She wants to be back in her own space and feel like she's free again even if she's knows it's just temporary until after the beginning of the year."

The 'Machete' actress was reportedly allowed to leave the sober living facility for around 15 hours to spend the day with her father Michael, as the pair work to repair their previously strained relationship.

Lindsay, Michael and the 24-year-old star's mother Dina – who went through an acrimonious divorce with the showbiz patriarch in 2005 - all recently underwent family therapy sessions at the Betty Ford Centre.

Michael explained: "Look, it was cleansing and it was productive. We are both striving to be on the same page and be good parents to Lindsay. Like we used to be - we just want to put things back in order."
