National League Playoffs Schedule: Philadelphia Phillies Host Milwaukee Brewers in Game One Wednesday

It went down to the final week for the Philadelphia Phillies to lock up the National League East and the final day for the Milwaukee Brewers to secure the wild card but now both teams are set to square off in the opening round of the National League playoffs on Wednesday.

The Phillies trailed the New York Mets by 3.5 games with 17 left to play but won 13 of their last 16 to win the NL East by three games as the Mets collapsed for the second straight year. Milwaukee narrowly escaped a collapse as they looked to have the wild card sewn up but dropped eight of nine in the middle of September before rattling off six of seven to end the regular season and edge the Mets on the final day.

Philadelphia took the season series 5-1 including a four-game sweep while the Brewers were sliding in mid Sept. 

On Wednesday the Phillies will send Cole Hamels who finished the season 14-10 including a 1-1 record against the Brewers. Milwaukee has not announced who will start on Wednesday as C.C. Sabathia is off the list as he is slated for game two.

Game time for Game One is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday
