Janet Jackson was hospitalized for an unknown illness while on her Rock Witchu Tour stop in Montreal on Monday night.
Jackson, 44, "got suddenly ill during the sound check" in Montreal and had to be rushed to the hospital, according to her PR rep. The concert at Montreal's Bell Centre had to be cancelled.
Jackson is being monitored at the hospital and hopes to reschedule the show. No further information was given about Jackson's condition, according to the statement by W&W Public Relations.
Jackson is scheduled to continue her Rock Witchu Tour and perform tomorrow night in Boston.
Jackson has had a tough couple of months. Last week, Jackson announced that she would be parting ways with Island Def Jam Records after just 14 months. The singer's publicist noted that the label agreed to dissolve the relationship upon Jackson's request.
In March, Jackson released Discipline, but since debuting at #1, the album has sold a disappointing 415,000 units, according to SoundScan.
In April, while promoting Discipline, Jackson missed an appearance on "Saturday Night Live" due to bronchitis, according to MTV News.
