The ‘127 Hours’ actor – who is currently studying at several US universities, recently had his own art exhibition, owns a production company and released a book of short stories last month – admits he is so driven to achieve more in his life, he struggles to find hobbies that allow him to completely switch off.
He said: “It’s hard for me to have just hobbies. I’d say I have a couple of hobbies.
“You know, playing ping pong. When I play ping pong, I don’t have the need to go to the Olympics.
“In my life, I do a lot because I have a lot I’m interested in. I don’t know if you can point to one thing or another and say that’s the real me. I am a bit goofy but I love school.”
Despite his success as an actor, James insists he is never treated differently by his classmates.
He told Total Film magazine: “They’ve all been great, they don’t treat me differently.
“In the States, the Yale English programme is one of the top in the country so they’re all superstars in their own right.”
