AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: #9 USC Trojans Look to Bounce Back vs. #23 Oregon Ducks
The #9 USC Trojans will look to regroup as they host the #23 Oregon Ducks on Saturday 8pm on ABC.
The Trojans will face their second straight Oregon-based team as they were shockingly upset by unranked Oregon State 27-21 last Thursday. Then-#1 USC fell eight spots in the AP Top 25 college football rankings due to the loss.
Oregon bounced back from a 37-32 upset to Boise State two weeks ago to defeat Washington State, 63-14, which is the second time the Ducks have scored over 60 points in a game this season.
Despite losing their starting quarterback (Dennis Dixon) and running back (Jonathan Stewart), their offense is exceptionally good this season. Oregon is ranked in the top 10 in rushing offense (308.6 ypg), scoring offense (47.4 ppg) and total offense (531.6 ypg), all placing them atop the Pac-10 in each category.
Oregon is led by LeGarrette Blount and Jeremiah Johnson on the ground, while sporting a three-headed monster at wide receiver with Jaison Williams, Ed Nickson and Terence Scott.
The Trojans have a similar three-headed monster in their backfield with Joe McKnight, C.J. Gable and Stafon Johnson. Mark Sanchez has taken over the quarterback and has shown amazing promise.
On defense, Southern Cal is one of the most talented defenses in the nation. Led by Rey Maualuga, Taylor Mays and Brian Cushing, USC is also one of the most intimidating.
