A toddler died Monday after her grandmother intentionally tossed her over railing while walking out of the third floor of the Tysons Corner Center in Fairfax, Virginia. Police said 2-year-old Angelyn Ogdoc was thrown from a walkway that connects the mall’s third floor to the sixth floor of a parking garage. Angelyn fell several stories and landed on pavement below. She died at a hospital several hours after the incident.
Angelyn’s grandmother, 50-year-old Carmela Dela Rosa, was arrested and charged with murder. It is still unclear what led Dela Rosa to kill the child. Two adult relatives were with Dela Rosa and Angelyn when the incident occurred. Witnesses say Dela Rosa abruptly picked up Angelyn and threw her.
Angelyn’s mother has not been identified. Dela Rosa is being held in jail without bond.
