The Bollywood strike that halted production on films and affected television broadcasting has ended after Unions representing actors, script writers, technicians and others inside the entertainment industry announced their demands had been met.
Among the demands met were reforms to working conditions and pay. Many inside Bollywood complained of having to work long stretches during filming while seeing little in compensation. Unions painted a picture of workers going up to six months without pay all while the production companies within Bollywood thrived.
According to Union leaders those inside the production companies have agreed to meet the demands of the workers, putting the movie and television industry back on track.
