Mila Kunis had her “a*s kicked” by her ballet trainer for ‘Black Swan’.
The 27-year-old actress – who stars alongside Natalie
Portman in the critically acclaimed Darren Aronofsky-epic – trained
every day for six months apart from one day, her birthday, when she was
allowed time off.
She said: “I went into the ballet studio in Los Angeles with Alexandra
Blacker who was my ballet instructor. She was 20 years old at the time
and had already broken her back and had fractured ribs and things.
“I went in there, started working with her for seven days a week, five
hours a day and was put on a 1,200-calorie diet for a total of five or
six months. I did get one day off, and that was my birthday; Alexandra
made me a root beer float.
“She never gave me a break. She was 20 and she kicked my ass."
The Hollywood beauty struggled to balance her commitment to the project
and her own personal life, and was nearly unable to attend the Emmy
awards until it was suggested to her she should just get up earlier to
train.
She told MTV News: “I remember during the Emmys and I said, 'I don't
think I can make it, I have to get ready for the Emmys.' She said,
'Yeah you can. I'll see you at 6am.' So I went in at 6am, danced for
five hours, came home, showered and went to the Emmys."
