The Boston Bruins have made some recent changes to their roster. They have traded forward Marco Sturn to the Los Angeles Kings for a conditional draft pick. This was a result of the 32 year old waiving his no-trade clause. Unfortunately Sturn had to undergo knee surgery in the off-season and has not played for the Bruins since the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Sturm, who carries a salary cap hit of $3.5 million US for this season, is slated to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2011.
Sturn tallied 22 goals and collected 37 points in 76 games for Boston last season.
A first-round pick (21st overall) by the Sharks in the 1996 NHL draft, Sturm played his first seven seasons in San Jose before being dealt to Boston as part of the Joe Thornton trade in 2005.
In 12 NHL campaigns with Boston and San Jose, Sturm has 234 career goals and 232 assists.
