AP Top 25 College Football Scores: Graham Harrell Lights it Up as #7 Texas Tech Pounds on Kansas State

Graham Harrell threw for 454 yards and six touchdowns and added another on the ground, Michael Crabtree had nine receptions for 107 yards and a pair of TDs and the #7 Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-0, 1-0) racked up 626 yards of total offense in their 58-28 Big 12 blasting of the Kansas State Wildcats (2-3, 0-1) on Saturday.

Harrell got things going for the Red Raiders in the first quarter with a one-yard toss to Lyle Leong but Josh Freeman answered for the Wildcats as he hit Ernie Pierce on a 33-yard pass to even the score. Harrell shot back at the Wildcats with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Crabtree to put the score at 14-t but Freeman answered once again as he scored on a keeper from one-yard out early in the second quarter to even the score.

After Freeman scored the rest of the night belonged to Harrell and Texas Tech as they put 24 points on the board to close out the second quarter with a field goal from Donnie Carona and then three more touchdown passes from Harrell; a 15-yarder to Leong, a 4-yarder to Ryan Hale, and a 29-yard toss to Crabtree to make the score 38-14 at the break.

It didn’t get any better for Kansas State in the second half as Harrell threw his sixth touchdown of the game in the third quarter, a 7-yarder to Leong and then he scored on a one-yard keeper in the fourth.

Texas Tech will host Nebraska next week while Kansas State travels to face Texas A&M.
