NFL Scores Week 5: Matt Ryan and Michael Turner Lead Atlanta Falcons to Road Win Over Green Bay Packers

Matt Ryan threw for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Michael Turner rushed for 121 yards and a TD and Roddy White had 132 yards receiving and a score as the Atlanta Falcons (3-2) went on the road and knocked off the Green Bay Packers (2-3) 27-24.

Atlanta started quick, scoring on their first possession of the game when Ryan hit Justin Peelle on a one-yard toss and when Jason Elam kicked a 42-yard field goal on their second possession they were up 10-0.

The Packers came back in the second frame as Aaron Rodgers looked to put to rest questions about a sore shoulder after hitting Donald Driver on a 44-yard touchdown pass but the Falcons answered on their next possession when Ryan connected with White on a 22-yard score to give Atlanta a 17-7 lead at the half.

Green Bay came back in the second half and when Rodgers hit Greg Jennings on a 25-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter the game was tied at 17-17. Atlanta responded with a drive of their own though and Elam put them in front with a 41-yard field goal and they pushed their advantage to 27-17 four minutes later on a Turner 2-yard touchdown run.

Rodgers got the Packers back into the endzone with just under two minutes left in the game when he hit Donald Lee on a 4-yard toss with 1:56 left in the game but the ensuing onside kick failed and Atlanta was able to run the clock out.
