NFL Scores Week 5: Miami Dolphins Score Upset Over Visiting San Diego Chargers

Chad Pennington was 22/29 passing for 228 yards and a touchdown and Ronnie Brown rushed for 125 yards and a TD and the Miami Dolphins (3-2) defense held LaDainian Tomlinson to just 35-yards rushing in their 17-10 win over the San Diego Chargers (2-3) on Sunday.

The Chargers put the first points of the game on the board with a 34-yard field goal from Nate Kaeding but the Dolphins answered with a 47-yard field goal from Dan Carpenter to even the score in the same frame.

Miami’s offense then clicked late in the second quarter as Pennington hit Greg Camarillo on a 17-yard pass for a 10-3 lead and then Ronnie Brown crossed the goal line on a 5-yard run with 41 seconds left in the half for a 17-3 advantage.

Philip Rivers finally got the Chargers in the endzone with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Chris Chambers but that was all San Diego would get as the Dolphins defense allowed just ten first downs in the game and 3-12 third down conversions.
