Morgan and Morgan attorney Adam Brum has achieved a $870,467.60 slip and fall verdict on behalf of a client who slipped on a wet floor at Kash N Karry in Tampa. A jury in Hillsborough County awarded the client with approximately $17,000 for past medical bills, $155,000 for future medical expenses, as well as compensation for pain and suffering.
The lawsuit was based upon a slip and fall accident at the Kash N Karry in Tampa. The client arrived at the Kash N Karry in the early morning. The floors had just been cleaned, but the cleaning crew failed to dry the area where the client was walking. As a result, he
slipped and fell to the ground. Although the client suffered from a preexisting back condition, the fall aggravated this condition and forced him to increase his intake of pain medication.
To treat the back injury, a surgeon recommended a fusion, which was performed several months later at three levels. The surgeon claimed that only one level was related to the slip and fall accident; the other back injuries were pre-existing.
