American League Playoff Schedule: Tampa Bay Rays Look to Eliminate Chicago White Sox in Game Four

The Tampa Bay Rays will take their second shot at eliminating the Chicago White Sox on Monday as the two clubs meet in the Windy City for Game Four of their best-of-five ALDS playoff series. The White Sox took Game Three 5-3 on Sunday to set the series at 2-1 and will need another win to send the series back to Tampa.

Chicago will be relying on the arm of Gavin Floyd (17-8 3.84 ERA) to get through Game Four. The right-hander has won seven of his last nine decisions and posted a 10-3 record at home this year. The White Sox will need another strong performance from Floyd on Monday if they are to continue their trend of surviving elimination game. The White Sox needed to win their final three games of the season to make it to the ALDS and then promptly put themselves behind the eight-ball when they dropped eth first two games in Tampa.

Tampa will send Andy Sonnanstine (13-9 4.38 ERA) out to the hill for his first postseason appearance. Sonnanstine dropped all three of his decisions in September keeping with a trend he showed all year in which he put together winning streaks of 5, 4 and 3 while dropping three games in a row twice.

The White Sox have played strong ball at home all year, posting a 54-28 record (game 163 against Minnesota was played in Chicago) while only two teams in the AL had a better road record than the Rays 40-41 mark.

Game Four is set to see the first pitch delivered at 5:07 p.m. ET.
