National Day of Beauty to Raise Awareness on Domestic Abuse According to BeautySchools.edu

BeautySchools.edu now features information regarding the 87 Empire Beauty School’s initiative to raise awareness about domestic abuse through a one-day event called National Day of Beauty. Each of the 87 schools will perform hair, skin and nail services for the public, and donate 100% of the profits to local women’s shelters which each of the schools have adopted. National Day of Beauty will commence on October 11, 2008.

The students will also donate their own money and collect personal items and canned goods for the residents of the shelter in addition to selling $5.00 coupons for haircuts on the day of the event, purple ribbon pins and donation circles.

Empire Beauty School has partnered with CUT IT OUT, an anti-domestic abuse organization, to trains the cosmetology school students on identifying signs of abuse and how to properly direct victims to safety.
