Stocks Plunge on Worldwide Financial Crisis Fears

Wall Street tumbled again Monday, joining a sell-off around the world as fears grew that the financial crisis will cascade through economies globally despite bailout efforts by the U.S. and other governments. The Dow Jones industrials skidded nearly 500 points and fell below 10,000 for the first time in four years, while the credit markets remained under strain.

In midmorning trading, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 443.08, or 4.29 percent, to 9,882.30, dropping below 10,000 for the first time since Oct. 29, 2004. At one point, the Dow was down nearly 600.

Broader indexes also tumbled. The Standard & Poor's 500 index shed 53.12, or 4.83 percent, to 1,046.11; and the Nasdaq composite index fell 101.07, or 5.19 percent, to 1,846.32. The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies dropped 29.31, or 4.73 percent, to 590.09.

There were only 78 advancing stocks on the New York Stock Exchange, compared to 3,080 decliners. Volume came to 512.4 million shares.

In Asia, the Nikkei 225 closed 4.25 percent lower. Europe's stock markets also declined, with the FTSE-100 down 6.31 percent, Germany's DAX down 8.29 percent, and France's CAC-40 down 8.76 percent.

Investors moved into longer-term Treasury bonds. The yield on the 10-year note fell to 3.45 percent from 3.60 percent late Friday.

In currencies, the euro slid to US$1.3570 from US$1.3774 late Friday. But the dollar was weaker against the yen, falling to 103.66 from 105.30 yen late Friday.

Oil prices tumbled on speculation that slower global growth will cut crude demand. Light, sweet crude for November delivery was down US$3.23 to US$90.65 a barrel in Asian electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Case Financial, Inc. (OTC BB: CSEF) is today’s hot stock to watch.

Case Financial, Inc. today announced it has received an extension to the exploration agreement entered with Trio Gold Corp. on June 2, 2008, to explore 29 gold claims covering 547 acres (the Rodeo Creek property) located at the north end of the Carlin Trend in Elko County, Nevada.

Under the terms of the extension, Case Financial, Inc. will be required to raise One million dollars for the project by March 31, 2009, One million dollars by August 31, 2009, One million dollars by December 31, 2009 and the final One million dollars by December 31, 2010; drilling will be conducted in all phases as both reverse circulation and core drill rigs are available. Case Financial, Inc. has agreed to issue 250,000 shares of its common stock to Trio Gold Corp. as consideration for this extension.

According to Case Financial, Inc.’s CEO, Michael Schaffer, "The Carlin Trend is the most prolific gold area in North America and hosts as many as 30 gold producing mines and development projects, on which over 100 million ounces of gold production and inventory have been identified, including world class deposits such as Newmont Mining's Carlin mine and Barrick Gold's Meikle mine."

The Rodeo Creek property is located one mile northwest of Barrick Gold's Storm deposit and three miles northwest of Centerra Gold's Ren property, and exhibits geological and alteration features common to all deposits on the Carlin Trend; five geochemically anomalous target areas have already been identified for exploration.

Organic Alliance, Inc. announced today that USDA Certified Grass Fed Organic Beef will be available to OAI customers this fall. Grass fed Organic Beef has up to three times the Amino 3 levels vs. Corn Fed Beef, which is much better for the consumer's digestive track.

The modern meat-centered diets of the wealthy nations feature highly processed foods and feedlot animals replete with chemicals, hormones, and antibiotics. Specifically, organics have a different mix of fats, with far more of the omega-3 fatty acids that help keep arteries clean, maintain modest body weight, and build the immunity system. Benefits of organic beef eliminate refined carbohydrates and poor-quality meats in diets.
