Throughout National Drug and Alcohol Addiction Recovery month in September, Narconon staff members worked tirelessly promoting hope of a drug free life to thousands.
Now that the month has ended, staff members can take a moment to reflect on the month and the impact they made on so many lives.
“This was a great month,” comments Gordon Weinand, in charge of Public Relations for Narconon Drug Rehab in Georgia. “Narconon made its presence felt at the local fair that was visited by 200,000 people.
"Thousands of kids signed drug free pledges and thousands more received drug information brochures. A few, with drug addicts in their families, were directed to call the Narconon center to get a confidential consultation about what to do with their addicted loved one.
“Narconon staff visited other drug rehabs in the area and coordinated efforts for drug education lectures. Narconon’s enthusiasm for effective drug education was contagious and plans were made for future collaborative drug prevention events.
“Through drug education videos and radio talk shows across the country Narconon supported those in recovery and encouraged kids never to start using drugs or become drug addicts.
“Newspapers across the Southeast are printed Narconon drug education articles and several editors were intrigued by our story of Crack Pipes in Your Local Convenience Store.
“We were asked to help coordinate an event in a local county that will promote drug education with local churches.
“If everyone can make drug education a priority, drug abuse and drug addiction will be a thing of the past. For those addicted now, addiction can still be a thing of the past for those who participate in the Narconon program.”
