Narconon Gives Back During Holidays

Narconon Arrowhead announces annual events held this holiday season to help community.

Oklahoma – Nine years ago, Narconon Arrowhead, a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, relocated to Arrowhead State Park with the mission of saving lives from the ravages of drug and alcohol addiction. Since this time, Narconon has helped several hundred people successfully recover from addiction.

In addition, the rehabilitation center has also taken part in many community events helping those in need during the holiday season and throughout the year.

This year Narconon is planning to take part in a parade on the 2nd of December in McAlester, Oklahoma and another on the 4th of December in Eufaula, Stigler and Checotah. The theme is “Better to Give Than to Receive.” The Narconon Arrowhead Christmas float for the parade is currently being built by residents and staff of the rehabilitation center.

Narconon will also be delivering the gift baskets from their food pantry on the 10th of December that will benefit the McAlester Hope House, Deep Fork Community Action of Eufaula, and the Pittsburgh County Child Welfare Division in McAlester.

A party for the Eufaula Indian Dormitory children will be held on December 9th, coined the “Holiday Fun Fest.” The kids will join Narconon Arrowhead staff and residents for a festive night of holiday cheer where each child will receive a stocking and presents from Santa. Narconon Arrowhead sponsors the event each year and the staff and clients help to put on the event.

On the 13th of December, Narconon will bring Santa Clause to visit daycares in Eufaula and bring candy canes to all the children. This will also continue on December 14th for the children of Eufaula Elementary School.
“This year has been special for us,” said DannaSue Pruett, Director of Field Activities for Narconon Arrowhead and longtime area resident. “Rather than a just a few events, we are working on several exciting projects.”

According to Pruett, Narconon holds several fund raisers in order to provide many of the community activities that the organization is involved in.

“It is about the spirit of giving,” she adds. “A community uniting and coming together and helping each other and it’s a lot of fun.”
