Inc. 5000 Company Boosts Employee Skills with Government Grant

PostcardMania utilizes federal grant program at local county level to enhance employees’ skills in marketing so as to better serve their customers.

PostcardMania has decided to take advantage of a federal training program to ensure its full-time employees are better trained in marketing.  The $21K grant is through the Incumbent Worker Training Program in Pinellas County, Florida, funded by the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and administered by Workforce, Florida, Inc.  The purpose of the program is to provide grants to employers to assist with certain expenses associated with skills-upgrade training for full-time employees of the company.

 

Ongoing education for employees is not a new concept for PostcardMania – this is their second time around in receiving this grant and they plan on using the money to continue educating their full-time employees in graphic design, printing, sales, customer service, PR as well as marketing.  PostcardMania CEO, Joy Gendusa, said she wants her employees to be well-armed with marketing knowledge to be able to really help the American business owners succeed during the tough economic climate.

 

The Incumbent Worker Training grants are being rewarded to help companies train their employees in order to stabilize the local workforce and ensure more job security.  State Senator, Dennis Jones, congratulated PostcardMania, saying, “This grant will allow you to provide customized training for your employees…in turn, with this additional training, your employees will better serve your customers.”
