Jerome Corsi, Author of Anti-Obama Book "Obama Nation", Detained in Kenya

Jerome Corsi, the author of the anti-Barack Obama book "The Obama Nation," has been arrested in Nairobi, Kenya on Monday.

Corsi, the controversial author, says he was there to give $1,000 to the Mr. Obama's half-brother George, who lives in one of the country's slums. The move is a publicity stunt to promote his book.

Corsi had been planning to launch his book, entitled "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality".

Immigration officials say he had been detained because he did not have a work permit.

A source at the Nyako House, where Corsi was being held, said Corsi had been detained for references made to Raila Odinga, the Kenyan prime minister, and allegations that his Muslim supporters had engaged in violent acts that rocked the country after December’s disputed elections.

Corsi's book planned to reveal reported ties between Obama and Kenyan political leaders, such as Odinga.
