The American League Championship Series is now set with the Tampa Bay Rays now set to host the Boston Red Sox in the best-of-seven series with the winner earning a ticket to the 2008 World Series.
Tampa Bay won the American League East after posting a 97-65 record and holding off Boston who finished at 95-67 to take the wild card route to the playoffs. The Rays compiled the best home record in baseball this year, going 57-24 at Tropicana Field while the Red Sox were equally impressive at Fenway, winning 56 games while dropping 25.
The Rays won their series with the Red Sox 10-8 this year with both teams showing dominance at their home field as Tampa was 8-1 at home while the Red Sox were 7-2.
Tampa moved into the ALCS after dropping the Chicago White Sox 3-1 in their ALDS series while Boston advanced after beating the AL West champion Los Angeles Angels in four games as well.
There has been no announcement as to who will start Game One of the series that has the first pitch scheduled to be delivered at 8:37 p.m. ET on Friday.
