CarMax, Inc (NYSE:KMX) will speak at the Wachovia Consumer Growth Conference on Wednesday, October 15 at 12:00 pm ET.  A webcast of the presentation will be available on the Investor Relations section of the company’s website, carmax.com.

CarMax, Inc. (CarMax) is a holding company and its operations are conducted through its subsidiaries. CarMax is a retailer of used cars, which retailed 377,244 used vehicles during the fiscal year ended February 29, 2008 (fiscal 2008). As of February 29, 2008, the Company operated 89 used car superstores in 41 metropolitan markets. In addition, it sold 222,406 wholesale vehicles in fiscal 2008 through onsite auctions.

The Company purchases, reconditions and sells used vehicles. All of the used vehicles it retails are reconditioned. Approximately 85% of the used vehicles CarMax retails are 1 to 6 years old with fewer than 60,000 miles. The Company also offers a selection of used vehicles at each superstore that are more than six years old or have more than 60,000 miles, if they meet similar quality standards.
