Bumblebee Chicken Salad Recalled For Hard Plastic in Cans

Suter Company has issued a recall for about 72,000 pounds of two of their canned chicken salad products after receiving reports of hard plastic in the food. The recall includes 8.2 ounce packages of “Bumble Bee Lunch on the Run Chicken Salad Complete Lunch Kit” with a “best-by” date of August 2011 and 3.5 ounce packages of “Bumble Bee Chicken Salad with Crackers” with a “best-by” date of February 2012. The products bear the establishment number “P-169” and the lot code “0225XXQBC.”

The Food Safety and Inspection Service says the Suter recall is a Class II, which means the affected products pose a "remote probability of adverse health consequences.” There have been no reports of injuries or sickness associated with the products.
