Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center appoints new Clinical Director

New Clinical Director appointed at New England Drug Rehab Center

Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center has appointed Fred Keane, LMSW as its new Clinical Director.

“Fred Keane brings with him many years of experience in the addiction treatment field in clinical case management and supervision,” begins Terence Dougherty, CEO of Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “He has integrated elements of trauma informed care and dual diagnosis into treatment planning and program development as well as other evidence based practices. He has presented on these and other topics at conferences in the addiction field. In addition, he has provided therapeutic intervention services for adults and adolescents and created and implemented new services for special needs groups. We know that his leadership and experience within the addiction treatment field will prove to be an invaluable asset to Mountainside and will help to further the effectiveness of our drug rehab program, recognized and known throughout the field as our Integrated Care Model™.”

Fred Keane, LMSW, graduated from Colgate University and went on to receive his Masters in Social Work from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services where he has an academic appointment as an Adjunct Professor and Faculty Advisor.

Acupuncture is being utilized more and more in the alcohol and drug treatment field.

Comprised of licensed and certified counselors and social workers as well as a Nurse Practitioner and a Registered Nurse, the team at Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center prides itself on being able to offer its clients a complete range of services, each of which address the unique needs of the individual. For clients who may have psychiatric issues and/or a dual diagnosis, Mountainside provides the services of a Psychiatrist who also has specialization in addictions. As a result of their unique, innovative approaches to addiction treatment over the past 12 years, Mountainside has become the model for the addiction treatment field.

The program, along with its professional addiction treatment team, have earned national recognition and resulted in Mountainside being invited to Washington by the White House to meet with the White House Drug Czar, John P. Waters, for an in-depth meeting on what makes its program so successful. This recognition did not go unnoticed within the addiction treatment field and resulted in the adoption by many throughout the country of a more holistic approach to drug addiction treatment.
