AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: #23 Wake Forest Demon Deacons Host Clemson Tigers Thursday

#21 Wake Forest Demon Deacons will host the Clemson Tigers in a heated ACC battle on Thursday at 7:30pm EST. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Wake Forest (3-1, 1-0 ACC) and Clemson (3-2, 1-1 ACC) both entered the season with high expectations and were the preseason picks to sit atop the Atlantic Division.

Clemson, the preseason #9 pick in the AP Top 25, began their season with a shocking loss to then-No. 24 Alabama, 34-10, which dropped them in the rankings considerably. They also lost to ACC rival Maryland, 20-17, on Sept. 27, kicking them out of the top 25 rankings.

Wake Forest is led by quarterback Riley Skinner, who led the Football Bowl Subdivision in completion percentage at 72.4 last season. Thus far, he has completed 68.9% of his passes for 974 yards for six touchdowns and four interceptions. The Demon Deacons rushing game is one of the worst in the nation (84.8 ypg), ranking them 115th.

Clemson is the complete opposite, boasting a very strong rushing game with the running back duo of James Davis and C.J. Spiller, nicknamed "Thunder and Lightning". The duo has combined for 679 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

It has been Clemson's quarterback Aaron Harper, who has been playing below expectations. Although Harper has completed 66.7% of his passes, he has thrown five interceptions and just three touchdowns.
