AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: #3 Missouri Tigers Take on #17 Oklahoma State Cowboys
#3 Missouri Tigers will host #17 Oklahoma State Cowboys in a Big 12 battle on Saturday at 8pm EST on ESPN.
Missouri and Oklahoma State boast two of the nation's most potent offenses, both ranking in the top ten in the nation in total offense (3rd and 6th, respectively) and scoring offense (2nd and 3rd). The Tigers are third in passing offense, while the Cowboys are second in rushing offense.
Missouri is led by Heisman Trophy hopefuls Chase Daniel and Jeremy Maclin. Daniel has completed 76% of his passes for 1,665 yards and 15 TDs. He ranks fifth in the nation in passing efficiency and fourth in total offense.
Maclin is one of the most dynamic and explosive talents, starring as a wide receiver and kick returner. Maclin has caught 31 passes for 480 yards and five touchdowns. As a kick returner, Maclin averages 30.3 yards per return (9th in the nation) and has 186.8 all-purpose yards per game (5th in the nation).
Oklahoma State is led by quarterback Zac Robinson has completed 72% of his passes for 1,035 yards and 10 touchdowns, and is third in the nation in passing efficiency. His favorite target Dez Bryant leads the Big 12 with 550 receiving yards and leads all receivers in the nation in scoring (9 TDs). Bryant is also fourth in the nation in punt return average.
However, Kendall Hunter has been the star on offense, ranking fifth in the nation with 708 rushing yards.
The biggest problems for both teams are their defenses. The Tigers are dead-last in the Big 12 in passing defense and 10th in total defense. The Cowboys is last in sacks and tackles for loss.
The Tigers have some bright spots and are led by linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, who is top ten in the nation in interceptions, tackles and tackles for loss.
