Detroit-based Dynasty Sports Management is currently in the process of strategically engineering their way to the top of the sports agency industry through growth and success in 2011 which will position the full-service motor-city sports agency within emerging markets. The firm currently represents professional basketball clients in Europe as well as in the states, and will soon make the transition of broadening their business by tapping into the National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB) sector while maintaining career growth and development for existing clients.
Nate McCray, CEO of Dynasty Sports Management, feels that the strategic approach is very cohesive. “I see this as a good first step in establishing a multi-faceted, multi-disciplined approach to our business model. Speaking from experience, I know that this model works well and I look forward to structuring a unique foundation for our clients.”
McCray advised that the agency will strategically become more diverse and bigger through organic growth by acquiring clients in high demand to market to the NBA and larger European markets as well as targeting the same high demand clientele to the NFL and MLB. “Going forward DSM will continue to maximize the flexibility, balance and alignment I created into our business model in order to continue to be successful and competitive” stated McCray.
To profess his bond on career development, McCray advised that a plan is already in place for clients that will be free-agents the summer of 2011. For instance, former Syracuse Orange Josh Pace will be finishing a tour in New Zealand this summer with the LPG Bay Hawks. Pace is a five year veteran who has been trying to break into the NBA, but has only received a few tryouts and an invitation to the NBA D-League Draft Pool in 2009. In order for Pace to catch the eye of higher level leagues, DSM will be looking into Pace attending the Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada next summer which is the haven for European scouts from bigger markets like Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Greece.
Another client who has become a career development project is former Eastern Michigan standout Justin Dobbins, who is currently in his rookie season in Europe playing for the Worcester Wolves of the British Basketball League. At 6’8” Dobbins is a big-guy who can hold his own in the paint but also has the defensive and perimeter skills to compete at the next level. While Dobbins continues to record double-double nights this season in the BBL, McCray will be marketing him to the NBA D-League in hopes of getting him drafted in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft. This will give Dobbins the opportunity to showcase his skills in front of NBA brass every time he steps on the court.
Although the paths taken may be disparate the ultimate goal will be identical and that is to play at the highest level feasible. To reach that goal, one must prepare numerous hours on the court or field and in the weight room. But to receive the best representation available, one must get in return the personal attention you deserve around the clock, the marketing of your credentials, the career development and growth that you want and the highest of business ethics provided – WOW one must seek out Dynasty Sports Management.
