Hollyoaks' India Longford will be brutally murdered after meeting the man of her dreams online.
The sensible student - played by Beth Kingston - will see her
rebellious sister Tex (Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove) hook up with a
hunky companion when she decides to use the internet to score a date
for the festive season.
Despite India warning her sister about the dangers of meeting people
online, she is more than a little intrigued and decides to set up her
own profile in the hope of finding love.
After arranging a date with a mystery man, the singleton makes sure Tex
and Nancy (Jessica Fox) accompany her to make sure everything runs
smoothly, but her dreams of romance are shattered when the object of
her desire doesn't bother to show up.
However, her fortune takes a turn for the better when she receives a
text message from her date saying he's been held up and is keen to meet
her somewhere else.
Ignoring her own advice, India rushes out to meet who she believes
could be the man of her dreams when she is grabbed in a secluded
alleyway and told: "Your profile didn't do you justice."
With Nancy frantic with worry when India doesn't return the next day
and Tex just thinking her sister got lucky, it could be some time
before the 'Hollyoaks' residents realise the horrible truth.
Meanwhile, Paul Marquess, series producer of the Channel 4 soap,
explained this might not be the last audiences see of the online killer.
He said: "This is a terrifying murder that highlights the dangers of
meeting strangers online. The storyline, which launches at Christmas,
will take us right through 2011 and audiences will be gripped to find
out if the dangerous killer will strike again."
