Gavin Henson believes 'Strictly Come Dancing' has helped him get over his love split.
The Welsh rugby ace - who parted ways from singer Charlotte Church in
May after six years together - signed up for the BBC One show in the
hope of escaping the pain of his break-up.
Dancing the blues away with his partner Katya Virshilas seems to have
worked, as the 28-year-old hunk says he even feels ready to start
dating again.
Gavin explained: "I'd hoped 'Strictly' would distract me from the
personal stuff going on - and it did. Time heals and it's taken my mind
off Charlotte. 'Strictly' was great for me. Now it's a whole new
chapter in my life.
"It's all go with rugby and 'Strictly'. But when the show's over it'll
be good to start anew in 2011. I think I'll carry on dancing and I'll
have time for a girlfriend then. I'm ready to move on. It's been a
while now."
Despite the show's judges having criticised the sportsman for
emotionless performances, he is remaining positive about his prospects
in the series.
He added to The Sun newspaper: "I'm in complete shock to be still in
the competition. The support I must be getting is overwhelming. It's
great to be in the semi-final and in the top five dancers left - but
I've still got a lot to do to get to the final.
"I didn't expect Strictly to be this hard. I've got such an
appreciation now for the skill involved in dancing. It's just so tough."
