Mary Byrne's 'X Factor' sing-off "wiped the floor" with Cher Lloyd's effort.

The Irish supermarket worker – who was eliminated from the ITV1 show on Sunday night (05.12.10) – was pleased to have exited the competition on a high, as she believes her final song was her best performance of the series.

She explained: "I feel fantastic. I sang that song better than I sang anything. I would have wiped the floor with anyone with that song, and I don’t care. I’m going to go far.

"It’s going to sound bad but I think I sang better than Cher."

The 51-year-old singer also admitted she never expected to win the talent show, as she always knew a "young person" would emerge victorious.

Mary told X Magazine: "I spoke to Louis beforehand and we kind of knew what was going to happen and I was ready for it. From the beginning, I said it’s a young person’s show and a young person’s going to win it. I have a big career in front of me.

"I think Matt may win it, but if I had my choice, it’d be Rebecca or One Direction."
