Chris Farr Featured Artist in YourFindit Interview

Chris Farr is an independent musician currently located in Tokyo, Japan.  His music of choice is surf rock.  His surf rock album, Scientific Flying Contraption, is thirty two tracks of instrumental, surf rock.  The album was released in August and Chris has been busy promoting it online and through live shows with his Japanese live band.

Surf rock formed from the marriage of surf and rock music, mixing rock n roll, surf music and pop rock with Latin influences.  The genre achieved mainstream success in the early 1960’s, but was later revived by the hit film, Pulp Fiction in the early nineties.  Notable surf rock artists include The Atlantics, Al Casey, The Centurions, The Challengers, The Chantays, Dick Dale, Goons of Doom and The Pixies.

Although Chris Farr is a solo artist, he does have a band that he performs with for live shows.  He hopes to develop a new album incorporating the band members, but would like to wait until the band gains more popularity.  Until then, Chris will continue to promote his album and write new music.
