8-Year-Old California Girl Found Hanged in Bedroom

An eight-year-old Rialto, California girl was found hanged in her bedroom early Wednesday morning, a belt around her neck with an end tightened on the frame of her bunk bed in her room.

Family members forced their way into the young girl’s room after discovering her door was locked and she wasn’t responding to their knocks. The grandmother, the legal guardian of the girl, told police she had been seen doing homework in her room about an hour before she was found hanged.

Police are still trying to determine if the girl’s death was a suicide or accident. They have searched her computer and cell phone but have not found a suicide note.
