The U.S. Putting Tour, a national amateur golf tour launching in 2011, has created a number of online social media pages that enable golfers, golf entrepreneurs, club professionals, and golf media to stay abreast of the latest news on the tour.
To date, the USPT has launched a blog, which can be accessed from the U.S. Putting Tour home page, a Facebook page, and a Twitter page. In addition, the USPT website contains a golf tour news page, which also will provide the most current press releases and updates on the
amateur putting tour.
"Golfers want to know what's happening with the USPT," said USPT founder Jim Hartley. "Our various online social media outlets will let us keep everyone informed on news with the tour championship and local qualifying events that are scheduled throughout the year."
The first
putting event that will qualify a golfer for the 2011 USPT National Championship is set for December 26 at Encinitas Ranch in Encinitas, California.
The USPT blog and the website also provide golfers with putting tips and advice on building a
proper golf swing.
