The Scissor Sisters singer admitted the success of their
latest album 'Night Work' has been "a slow burn" - and they feel they
shouldn't have released 'Fire With Fire' as the first single.
The frontman said: "That's the heartbreak about it -
it's something I always follow, always going with my instincts. Because, if you
put something out when you're following your instincts and it fails, it's all
on you. 'Invisible Light' should have been the first single."
However, he still feels positive about the band's
relevance in the industry and maintains that their music is like that of no
other group.
He said: "My goal with this band is to be our own
unique special sound.
"I look at all my favourite bands, Daft Punk or Nine
Inch Nails or Red Hot Chili Peppers, and you know, those bands are always going
to be relevant because they're their own creation. No one else is ever going to
be Scissor Sisters."
'Night Work' is out now.
