The United States has reportedly agreed to remove North Korea from its list of countries that sponsor terrorism, likely ending Pyongyang’s decision to restore its Yongbyon reactor to plutonium production.
According to reports U.S. President George Bush was satisfied with assurances made by North Korea that they would open their facilities to inspection.
North Korea had agreed to disarm its Yongbyon facility in a deal that would have provided diplomatic incentives but the U.S. refusal to remove North Korea from its list of state sponsors of terrorism ended the deal.
