Los Angeles County Wildfires in Angeles National Forest Force Evacuation of More Than 1,200

The wildfires that have charred up more than 750 acres of the Angeles National Forest and forced the evacuation of more than 1,200 people is said to be under control but there remains a sense of urgency in stamping out the blaze due to Santa Ana winds that are expected to pick up later in the evening.

It remains unclear how the blaze started but firefighters were called to an area of Little Tujunga Canyon about 20 miles north of downtown Los Angeles shortly after 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

There have been no reports of serious injuries due to the blaze but one residence and three motor homes were reportedly destroyed.
