Cher Lloyd has admitted defeat in 'The X Factor'.

The 17-year-old hopeful – who controversially reached this weekend's final ahead of Irish diva Mary Byrne – explained while she knows she has no chance of winning, she is grateful to have gone so far in the competition.

She told BANG Showbiz: "I know I'm not going to win it. I mean come on, I'm the rapper! But not many people like me get a chance on the show so I'm just glad I've come this far really.

"I think people misjudge me. I'm not the person people are making me out to be, but that's fine, I know who I am and the people who know me know who I am."

Meanwhile, music mogul Simon Cowell branded the teen a "brat", but admitted she had been fun to work alongside.

He added: "I've worked with a ton of contestants on these shows, who on camera are really nice and it's all about loving one another, but it's all nonsense.

"When I've worked with Cher she's been a bit of a brat. But then again, who hasn't? I think she's been respectful, she's been fun to work with. I will vouch for her that she's been a terrific contestant."
