Matt Cardle's voice "isn’t in great shape".
The 27-year-old hopeful - who has been struck down with illness over
the last two weeks – admitted he isn't feeling overly confident about
his chances of success in 'The X Factor' final this weekend.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I'm not going to lie, my voice isn't in great
shape. I'm getting my maximum rest at every chance I get until I have
to sing live.
"It is what it is and I'm just going to have to work with what I've got at the moment."
Meanwhile, Matt's mentor Dannii Minogue explained while she thinks her
protege has a good chance of winning the ITV1 show, the pair are
concerned 'X Factor' fans may think he is "playing the sick card".
She added: "I'd like to think this year is my best chance of winning.
We're in a good space and as Matt said, we're just a bit worried about
the voice. It's been a really difficult couple of weeks.
"It's hard because people are saying, 'You're playing the sick card'.
But if you're sick, you're sick – there's no card to play. We're
excited about this weekend. It would be nice to be going into it
feeling really fresh but we'll do our best."
