Strange fireballs in the sky have been making headlines recently; however the most unusual footage of one of these mysterious UFOs was caught on a Santa Monica resident’s iPhone camera on December 1, 2010. Witness, Jeremy Corbell’s video shows what appears to be a falling object with a tail; nothing too strange, that is until the object began maneuvering back and forth, similar to the famous “Silver Surfer” comic book character. Aerospace conceptual artist and pilot, Mark McCandish says that the object was obviously not a falling meteor.
In response to Corbell’s video on YouTube, McCandish stated, “In spite of the shakiness of the footage, it is obvious that you’ve captured something that was NOT a falling meteor or typical fighter aircraft. I have had stick time in the F-4, A-7, F-15 and the F-16 (up to 9.3 G’s). This aircraft (the closer of the two) executed about a 110 degree turn in a matter of seconds. Judging by the speed that it appeared to be traveling, it was surpassing the performance of any ‘manned’ fighter aircraft I’m familiar with.”
Responding to a story on his video and other recent fireball UFOs on the website for Open Minds, a UFO news magazine, Corbell says he has found at least one other witness to his sighting who videotaped the object from a different vantage point. He also found videos of similar events that happened several days after his sighting in the same area.
Open Minds was also contacted by a UFO researcher from the Czech Republic who has investigated a similar object in the past. He provided pictures, and possible answers, but says that he has been unable to reach a definite conclusion.
