Japanese banking giant Mitsubishi UFJ has purchased a 21% stake in troubled U.S. investment bank Morgan Stanley for a reported $9 billion.
The purchased price clearly favored Mitsubishi UFJ after shares of Morgan Stanley tumbled as the banking crisis decimated Wall Street.
As part of the deal Mitsubishi UFJ will receive preferred stock that produces a 10% dividend.
