Monday Night Football Schedule: NY Giants Look to Stay Perfect, Travel to Face Cleveland Browns
The New York Giants (4-0) remain just one of two teams without a loss in the 2008 NFL football season, the Tennessee Titans are 5-0, and on Monday they’ll look to stay perfect when they travel to take on the Cleveland Browns (1-3) who are looking to get back on track after a disappointing start.
Eli Manning has tossed six touchdowns in his Giants four wins while seeing just one of his passes picked off and Brandon Jacobs has collected 380 yards rushing and three touchdowns in four games but it is the New York defense that has been grabbing headlines.
The Giants feature the #1 defense in the NFC, allowing just 236 yards per game, 82 of those yards on the ground. They have allowed just 12.3 points per contest as well, once again tops in the NFC. Those numbers don’t bode well for the Cleveland Browns who are dead last in the NFL in offensive yards per game at 210.8 and their 11.5 points per game ranks last as well.
In contrast the Giants offense leads the NFL with an average of 31.8 points per game and their average of 431 yards per game is tops as well. It has been the running game of the Giants that has controlled all four of their victories as they lead the NFL with an average of 181.3 yards per game, that could be a challenge for a Browns defense that ranks 23rd in the NFL in rushing defense.
Monday Night Football will kick off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
