World Cup 2010 European Qualifier Group One Schedule for Oct. 15
The chase for a spot at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa continues on Wednesday as two matches are scheduled from Group One of the European Qualifying stage. While front-runners Denmark and Sweden have the day off Hungary and Portugal are facing serious pressure to win if they are to stay alive.
Hungary is sitting on four points after handing Albania a 2-0 loss on Sunday and could further bolster their standing if they can knock off a dismal Malta side that has yet to score a goal and just lost 3-0 to Denmark.
Portugal is in is in the same boat as Hungary after playing to a draw with Sweden on Sunday but they’ll be facing a determined Albania side that will try to bounce back from their loss on Sunday.
