World Cup 2010 European Qualifier Group Two Schedule for Oct. 15
Following Sunday’s matches Group Two of the European qualifier for the 2010 World Cup continued to favor Greece while Israel held firm with another win and Switzerland remained alive with a win over Latvia.
Israel could do a lot for their World Cup hopes if they can knock off Latvia on Wednesday as their seven points are good enough for second right now but they could jump to the top with a loss by Greece. Latvia can’t survive another loss and will have to play aggressive.
Luxembourg is coming off a 3-1 loss to Israel and must beat Moldova if they are to have any chance of climbing in the group. Moldova has shown little thus far and were just blanked by Greece on Sunday.
In the match of the day Greece will be matched up against Switzerland in what could determine how the group shakes out. Greece has yet to allow a goal while Switzerland has let five hit the back of the net. Switzerland did just beat Latvia on Sunday and will look to carry that momentum into Wednesday.
